I'm a medical doctor with a background in emergency medicine, field hospitals, and work with Médecins Sans Frontières. Today I lead the Medical Knowledge team at Heidi Health, where nine clinicians work on prompt engineering, clinical safety, QA and clinical operations for a medical AI scribe used in over two million sessions a week.

A bit of background

Dr Kieran McLeod wearing a stethoscope

South African medical doctor (MBChB with Distinction from the University of Cape Town) and digital health specialist now based in Melbourne. I interned across South Africa's public health system, worked emergency departments in the Western Cape, and served as a medical officer with Médecins Sans Frontières in field hospitals during COVID-19. That clinical grounding is what pulled me into healthcare AI - I lead the Medical Knowledge team at Heidi Health, building QA pipelines and evaluation frameworks for a clinical AI scribe, with a focus on scaling tools that are genuinely safe and effective and that reduce the burden on the clinicians using them.
